ROYERSFORD PA – “Schuylkill Wilds,” an exhibit that features creatures and critters seen in or near the Schuylkill River, will be unveiled to the public Saturday (April 28, 2012) from 1-3 p.m. in a grand opening event at Montgomery County’s Upper Schuylkill Valley Park, Route 113, Royersford PA.
- This event has been added to The Post calendar.
The river, which meanders through the county for 42 miles, provides a habitat for many native animal species. This exhibit is intended to show off some of them to visitors “in a fun and engaging manner,” park officials said.
Guests will be able to view different mammals, various reptiles, amphibians and fish. Hands-on activities for children are included during opening day, and park staff members who created, designed and care for the new exhibit will be available to answer questions.
A $2 per person donation is suggested, and the event depends in part on good weather because some activities will be held outdoors. However, park staffers will be on hand, and the exhibit building will be open, no matter the weather. For more information, call 610-948-5170.
