HARRISBURG PA – Gun owners who want to reach the state’s public shooting range on Scotia Range Road at Pennsylvania Game Land 176 in Centre County PA will need to take an alternate route to get there during June if coming from the east, Game Commission officials announced Wednesday (May 30, 2012).

The road is scheduled to be closed for improvements beginning Monday (June 4). The work should be finished by the end of June. During the construction, the only access to the range complex will be from the west side of the game lands via Gatesburg Road in Ferguson Township.

The project involves resurfacing of 2.9 miles of Scotia Range Road from the east side of the game lands – closest to Circle View Road and Meek Lane – to the range. However, both sections of the road will be open June 15-17 for participants and spectators at the YHEC event there.

The range itself will remain open during construction.
